For the first time ever a country has it’s own phone number. The campaign ‘the Swedish number’, launched by the Swedish Tourist Association allows people from all over the world to call Sweden to talk to a Swede – about anything! Behind this initiative is Puzzel’s powerful cloud contact centre solution.
250 years ago, in 1766, Sweden became the first country in the world to introduce a constitutional law to abolish censorship. To honour this anniversary, Sweden has now introduced its own phone number – +46771793336 which will give access to ordinary Swedes who want to represent their country.
Behind the unique solution is Puzzel, one of the leading providers of contact center solutions. It is Puzzel’s technology that enables the initiative and is queuing calls, distributing them, keeping statistics and more. Via a smartphone app, based on Puzzel’s open APIs, the Swedish people can make themselves available for calls via the cloud-based contact center. This means that anyone in Sweden with a smartphone and a Swedish number can register as an “Ambassador for Sweden”. One of the registered Swedes are then randomly selected to discuss and answer questions from callers all over the world who are curious about Sweden. The callers are not identified and data is kept anonymous and secure.
Cloud based technology and the flexibility and scalability it offers are some of the factors that has made this unique project possible. Previously, this could not have been accomplished since it required that all call receivers would be situated in the same physical location with the same kind of device. It is very gratifying to see that the campaign has been a massive success and Puzzel look forward to making the whole of Sweden a contact centre based in the cloud.
On the campaign page www.theswedishnumber.com you can see live data from the contact center that is powered by Puzzel’s contact centre solution.
